Spirit Fish Origami Boat Lanterns

The Spirit Fish Project is an art and watershed awareness project by Still Moon Arts Society with the support of BC Arts Council and numerous community partners. We aim to connect communities to the water we use and show how water travels from our backyards through streams and rivers to the oceans. Water is the circulatory system of the earth and we want to celebrate it and all the living creatures whose very lives depend on clean, accessible water.

Below are the instructions to make a Spirit Fish Origami Boat Lantern. Fold a boat and make a prayer for the water.

To get the best results you need to use ‘butcher’s paper’ which is waxy on one side. This will allow the lanterns to float and prevent soggy Prayers for the Water!
