Work with Still Moon Arts this summer!

We are looking to hire 4 summer student positions this summer who are passionate about working with the arts, environment, and/or community. The deadline to apply is May 1st. Please see below for the job postings and send your resume and cover letter to crecienbencio@gmail.com.

As these positions are supported by the Canada’s Summer Jobs Grant, all applicants must be:

  • Age 15 to 30 years old
  • Full-time students intending to return to their studies in the next school year

Please note that all of the positions are pending federal approval/funding as of April 14th.

 

Community Connector & Moon Festival Production Assistant

This position will work with the Artistic Director of Still Moon Arts, the Moon Festival Director, the Production Manager, members of the Still Moon Arts Board, and the summer team. It is designed to support the administrative and event planning needs of the Society while catering to the goals of the summer student. Through this job, the student will be able to build a deeper understanding of the daily administrative and artistic tasks required to run a small non-profit community arts organization and our major event of the year, the 16th Annual Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival which will be based on Birds. 

 

Stewardship & Eco-Art Assistant

This position will work with the Artistic Director and the Still Moon Arts summer team focused on the Renfrew Ravine. It is designed to support artistic and/or scientific endeavors of the student, with opportunities for the student to utilize their interests and existing skillset. The summer student will be mentored by the ecologists and biologists in our Still Creek Streamkeepers group, as well as artists with expertise in event planning and community engaged art.

 

Moon Festival Production Manager

This position will work with the Artistic Director of Still Moon Arts, the Moon Festival Director, members of the Still Moon Arts Board, and the summer team. It is designed to support the administrative and event planning needs of the Society while catering to the goals of the summer student. Through this job, the student will be able to build a deeper understanding of the daily administrative and artistic tasks required to run a small non-profit community arts organization and our major event of the year, which will be based on Birds.

 

Communications Coordinator

 This position will work with the Artistic Director, members of the Still Moon Arts Board and Communications Committee, and the summer team. It is designed to fulfill the administrative and outreach needs of the Society, while catering to the goals of the summer student. Through this job, the student will be able to support and build a deeper understanding of the daily administrative and artistic tasks required to run a small non-profit community arts organization.

Job Posting: Ravine Steward, Admin, and Special Events and Projects Assistant

This is the third of three job opportunities available through the Still Moon Arts Society.

The Ravine Steward, Admin, and Special Events and Projects Assistant will work with the Artistic Director and the Communications, Outreach, and Administrative Assistant summer student. This position is designed to support artistic or scientific endeavors of the student, with opportunity for the student to add their own skillset. The summer student will be mentored by a variety of stakeholders with expertise in event planning, ecology, and art.

Job details: June 29th – August 24th, 2015 (8 weeks, 35 hours/week)

Applicants must:

  1. be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  2. have been registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
  3. intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
  4. be a student in a secondary, post-secondary, CEGEP (Quebec only), vocational or technical program;
  5. be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
  6. be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
