Still Creek Streamkeepers

We are continuing to monitor the health of Still Creek and run activities that help improve water quality and ecosystems. Activities include water quality testing, ravine cleaning, garbage removal, invertebrate sampling and removing invasive species and replanting with native plants. We often invite guest experts to learn more about healthy ecosystems and what we can do to help Still Creek.

Monthly Meetings:  We meet every 4th Monday of  month from 6-8 PM at Slocan Park Fieldhouse. Drop in!

If you’re interested in joining the team, contact us at mail@stillmoon.org or visit the Streamkeepers Facebook Page.

Rehabilitating Salmon

In 2012, chum salmon began to spawn in the Vancouver portion of Still Creek for the first time in nearly eight decades. The salmon often spawn behind the Canadian Tire on Grandview Highway in late October or early November. Currently, the number of spawning salmon is small, and in order for it to become common, we need to continue working to restore the stream and keep it healthy all year long.
