Still Moon Arts Society inspires vibrant and connected communities by creating artistic experiences and nurturing a passion for nature.

Our belief in the power of artistic experiences to move and engage people guides us as we bring together art, environment, and community in East Vancouver, with specific focus on the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood and Still Creek watershed

Since 2004, we have used art to raise awareness and bring about positive change by mobilizing the local community to restore the Renfrew Ravine from a neglected dumping ground to a place of natural beauty, and educational opportunities.

Our Water Conversation:

Stories & Natural Dyes

Share your water-related memories, stories, and hopes during an intercultural water dialogue featuring guest speakers Lori Snyder and Masa Kateb & Eda Ertan of Quantum Care. Explore your creativity with a natural dyeing experience to co-create a section of a giant puppet named “Water Woman”. Your contributions will create scales for Water Woman’s dress, which will symbolize our collective relationship with water, and become a vibrant tapestry of shared stories, wishes, and prayers for water.

May Day Mending with Still Moon Arts and EartHand Gleaner’s

May is the perfect time for some wardrobe TLC (Tender Loving Care); mend those sweaters about to be tucked away, and take a fresh look at the summer clothes you are about to start wearing.

Bring down something holey, needing a patch or a mend, or those tired but loved garments and extend their life with patches, strengthening stitches or invisible mends.

Please ensure your garments are clean and freshly laundered!

This is a collaborative ‘Mending Party’ organized by EartHand Gleaner’s Society and Still Moon Arts Society, and facilitated by artists and community members from both organizations.

Gardeners’ Gatherings at Colour Me Local Dye Garden

Join the Still Moon team for some fun getting your hands dirty, while connecting with other gardeners in the community.

At Still Moon’s Gardeners’ Gathering Work Parties, we weed water and maintain the Colour Me Local Dye Garden. Questions are welcome and sometimes we bring out a dye pot to experiment with.
